As snow continues to melt and road conditions steadily improve across Abilene, city officials say more residents can safely get back out, while crews continue monitoring for lingering slick spots. According to the Abilene Police Department, overall road conditions have improved, with fewer ice patches reported and little to no refreezing overnight. Even so, officers are still urging drivers to use caution, especially on bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas where slick spots may remain. Several city services are now returning to normal operations. City facilities across Abilene are open to the public, and CityLink transportation services have resumed regular schedules. Trash collection is also getting back on track. Solid Waste Services will resume regular routes Wednesday through Friday. Residents who missed bulk or brushy pick-ups earlier in the week are asked to place those items at the curb so crews can collect them over the next few days. For those with travel plans, Abilene Regional Airport is now open. Airport officials recommend checking directly with American Airlines or your travel provider to confirm flight status before heading to the airport. City leaders say crews will continue monitoring road conditions and weather impacts throughout the day. DETAILS: https://ktxs.com/news/local/abilene-r...
