Here I put mare horse in pasture with four geldings and two other mares. I just walk about and try to explain what is going on, why horses are doing what they are doing. A couple of geldings give good Flehmen responses. One mare is in heat so you see geldings dropping and trying to befriend / dominate the new mare. These are my observations, not much is absolute in horses, so I explain what I think I am seeing. Save the hate mail about the limping or being lame, she is stiff and out of shape since she is kept alone. She is happier here than being alone, bored and without horses or herd.
