Camino Francés - Day 37 - From Trabadelo to O‘Cebreiro (Jakobsweg 2023)

Interesting cloud / fog formations. I start walking around 8 am and shortly afterwards met the Japanese woman again. She had started at 5 am. It is a warm day and it is a strenuous day, the first 10 km are still flat terrain, but the last 8 km are going to be tough, only uphill to O‘Cebreiro. Along the way, I meet a pilgrim on a unicycle, just a day after my niece became German unicycle champion! Today I left Castillas y Leon and entered Galicia. I check into the municipal albergue and even though it didn‘t look like rain, it‘s rumbling just as I put my clothes out for drying. And shortly after that it‘s almost simultaneous thunder and lighning. I manage to get into a taberna just before there‘s a downpour. At 7pm I join a pilgrim‘s mass, the church is full. Pilgrim‘s read some lines in their languages and the priest explains Ultreia! Sustreia! And we collectively repeat. At the end, each pilgrim gets a stone with the yellow arrow, the arrow of love. Lots of people in the church are crying, myself included.
