We are in the full swing ‘’The Season of the Sagre’s’’ ‘’italian festivals’’ in every corner of the Italian peninsular! One of the Many reasons for which Italy is loved worldwide is not only because of its History art breathtaking land but of course its incomparable culture. When we think Italy we ‘Sigh’’ with a big smile, as those of us who have travelled Italy you can sure remember mostly what we ate!! And then obviously what we have seen ‘ofcouse Sagre’s must be experienced at least ‘’once!’’ if what you are looking for is to experience the authentic italian. The rustic side, the ‘’lets mangiare’’ until we are unable to move kind of way….. I know I know it does not work with every one but you know who you are...So if you are that individual that would like to taste all italian products in a day…… we are here to please… even though today Sagre’s are mainly attributed with Food, the origins of the Italian sagra [SAH-grah] originates from ‘’sacrare’’ or ‘’sacrum’’ to consecrate. These were mainly religious events or to celebrate the harvest .. today we still have many festivals in honor of a patron saint or to an important product of that region, either way Food reigns… afterall we are in ITaly.. italy especially at this time of the year prides of having sagres from all corners of the peninsular with wonderful products of its region, The List of Sagres are infinite.. interesting sagres however are Sagra of the Frog, Onion , eggplant, Polenta, Chestnuts and of course olive oil, wine, Pasta, pastries, cheese, skewers ...etx... Though don't just expect that only product in sagres, they will blend in many other italian ‘’materia prima’’ such as Wine, Cheese, bruschetta with olive oil, Cold cuts, and not only but music performers, arts & crafts and other unexpected spectacles, such as re-enactments of all sorts Some Sagres are extraordinary, however other sagres are quite small and very simple either way these sagres shows Italians at its very best so it is here where you will experience the italian true spirit… Travelling to Italy? maybe you would like to experience a sagre?
