Website: https://www.unicef.org/botswana/ BACKGROUND The Private Sector Forum for Child Rights is a strategic platform that convenes Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) from leading private sector entities across Botswana. Its primary objective is to advocate for the rights and welfare of children, mobilize financial resources, and influence business ecosystems to prioritize child rights. The Forum endeavors to create an enabling environment in which businesses uphold and actively support child rights through the adoption of responsible policies, codes of conduct, labor practices, marketing strategies, and supply chain operations. The establishment of this Forum acknowledges the direct and indirect impact businesses have on children as consumers, dependents of employees, young workers, and future entrepreneurs and leaders. The Forum's work aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, which emphasizes multi-stakeholder partnerships as vital for mobilizing knowledge, expertise, technologies, and financial resources in support of sustainable development efforts.
