Surveillance is everywhere | video art 2068 - 2017

Since the early 1980s, I have experimented with different media, moving between music, painting, drawing, and photography. From playing in punk and metal bands to visual art, my creative journey has always been about transformation. But my ultimate dream remains the same: to one day become a filmmaker. This video is a presentation of 1000 Years of White Noise, a multi-track installation composed of short samples and loops, projected simultaneously at varying speeds. My videos draw from film noir, crime, autism and the instability of memory. Noise and distortion surface through a succession of physical and digital manipulations, gradually eroding the image over time. Recurring motifs as gas stations, speeding highways and other non spaces are part of an evolving iconography. A fragmented, closed universe emerges, where temptation and fatal encounters, amnesia and split identities collapse into an endless loop. My work fuses film, photography, and sound into a liminal headspace of echo, noise, and reverb. Each presentation shifts: fragments are replayed at different speeds, paired with altered soundscapes. The grainy texture references the visual language of home movies, viral clips, and pornography. Disposable modes of looking. What remains is the residue after editing. Sometimes these works take the form of video installations, but they function just as well—perhaps even better, when viewed on a smartphone.
