► Playlist:    • Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (PC)   A bit different from the usual content but I've been playing Ys lately. First I finished Yunica's story in Origin and now I'm back to VIII, which I started on Switch and then bought on PC last year. I'm loving every second of it, insanely good game, highly recommended. Go play it now, what are you waiting for? But back to the video! Ricotta proposes to go see her master for a training session at the beginning of Chapter 4 and Master Kong can be found at the top of Roaring Seashore. Offer a ripe mango to the huge ape and he will be willing to teach Ricotta a new Skill... if she defeats him in a fight, that's it. Although Master Kong always starts the battle using Spiral Dive, the monkey excels at close combat with access to punches, a ground slam with both arms and a spinning lunge. Getting behind Master Kong makes him more likely to do a jumping kick to create some distance, so be careful. Ricotta's damage output is a bit lower than it should be because I lacked the materials to fully upgrade her weapon. I know I should be dodging with Flash Move more, especially because its duration can be doubled with an accesory, but I'm more comfortable just parrying stuff. All my Sekiro playthroughs have to be worth something, right? The other characters will have their turn to learn new Skills from Master Kong as the game progresses and I will record these fights once they are available. EDIT from future Zeke: all Master Kong fights are basically the same (only his special move seems to be different) so uploading six almost identical videos is not the most exciting thing to do. Instead, I'll be fighting other bosses while controlling a different party member to showcase what they can do. Good thing I kept some older savefiles! I think that will be all I upload for this playthrough but as for the next one in a higher difficulty... who knows.
