'Wildflower' by The Feels Like Home Choir

Feels Like Home: Voices Blooming at Wentworth Castle Gardens Feels Like Home are a community group for people new to Barnsley where English isn’t their first language. Formed by Barnsley Museums in 2018, the group now has 200 members and represents many nationalities from across the world. Feels Like Home participate in creative projects to build stronger communities, and to feel more at home through cultural sharing. The group has organised food-sharing events, performed dances, volunteered as community champions, starred in their own pop video, created lantern art for Barnsley Bright Nights and written poetry for arts festivals. This year, Feels Like Home have continued a longstanding partnership with the National Trust through the Voices Blooming project. The group love to sing and have created a choir inspired by nature and the hopeful blossoms of Spring. The group wrote songs about nature's universality, symbolising healing and grounding, in contrast to also celebrating the individuality of national flowers. The group performed their songs at Wentworth Castle Gardens on 10 May 2025
