On March 4, 2026, a minor dispute involving a water balloon hitting a neighbor escalated into a violent mob attack in the JJ Colony area. According to The Hindu, Tarun was returning home when he was intercepted and brutally assaulted with sticks and stones. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
