I haven't even shaved, but I want to answer this question very quickly. I got an email today from someone called Laura, and she says she's got a supernatural horror self tape to do. Any tips and hints about how to do that? And I've got three ideas for you. The first important thing about this is for ... Most important thing is to commit to it. One of the problems that we always find, when you look at the script is there are so many exclamation marks and kind of spooky scenes happening, and things like that. So they can seem very unreal. It can feel kind of very distant from humanity. So the most important thing is to take it seriously, and to fully invest in the reality and commit to the scene, exactly as you would if it was any other kind of story that you know. Look at it from a point of view of an actor. Seriously looking at each scene, look at the intentions, the obstacles, whatever it is that's going on inside that horror movie or the self or the supernatural film. It's got to look and feel real, and you must fully commit to it. So that's the first thing. The second thing I want you to do is this, is to really find out the actual moments that are ... In the scene probably there's a moment where your character discovers something about the monster. It's so important that you don't telegraph this. I know this sounds really obvious, but it's very easy in scene rehearsal, and being in these situations to play the fact that you know that there's a monster coming around the corner. So important that you play each beat seriously and simply. And as you do that, you'll bring the audience with you. And the third tip I would like to give you on this, is simply to let it go. Let go of all your worries and concerns about the way that you think about horror or supernatural material. Think of it simply and let go of any worries and concerns. That's irrelevant. Okay, so please leave me a comment and I'd love to have this discussion with you, and if you haven't signed up already, sign up for my FREE YouTube channel. Bye now. I'm off to shave.
