In this video, I’m working in the studio to build texture and depth in one of my original acrylic paintings. Texture plays an important role in my work—it creates a surface that captures light, adds dimension, and gives the painting a physical presence that changes as you move around it. By layering and sculpting the paint, I create a finish that resembles the richness often associated with oil painting, while maintaining the immediacy and energy of acrylic. These textures are impossible to fully capture in photos, which makes each original painting a unique, one-of-a-kind piece best experienced in person. The surface holds the history of the process—every mark, layer, and decision remains visible. Collectors often tell me the texture is what draws them in first.
