New York Rail Modernization and AirTrain LaGuardia Extension

An upgrade to New York’s rail system unifying all commuter lines into a cohesive unit! There is currently no direct rail service from Long Island to the Bronx or Westchester or New England, despite their proximity and populations. This WEBEO discusses the possibilities of upgrading and connecting track infrastructure in Queens and the Bronx to enable trains to directly connect from the Bronx and Connecticut to Long Island. Additionally, while the AirTrain LaGuardia proposal only reaches Willets Point, much of the rail hubs and population is to the west, in Manhattan or Brooklyn/Bronx. An extension of the AirTrain LaGuardia westwards to meet this new connecting line and the LIRR mainline at Queens Central (discussed last WEBEO) is vital to serve these travelers seamlessly into New York City and all surrounding areas.
