The 2025 Chery Omoda E5 is looking to put the emerging Chinese car brand on the fully electric map in Australia's ever-expanding small SUV segment. As its name suggests, the Omoda E5 is based on the internal-combustion Omoda 5, so it has familiar underpinnings that have already appealed to so many buyers. That said, the Omoda E5 stands out with its zero-emissions powertrain, which is headlined by a 150kW/340Nm front-mounted electric motor and a 61kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery that delivers a driving range of up to 430km and can accepted a maximum DC charge rate of 80kW for a 30 to 80 per cent charge in 30 minutes.
