Shane: Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2013 GMC Terrain. We're going to walk you through how to install the PTC Custom cabin air filter. Replacing your cabin air filter is very important for a couple of reasons. One it's going to help the air quality in the car be much better for not only you, but your passengers. Also, it's going to keep the air flowing into your car. Because if air isn't able to flow through the filter, what it does is it puts unnecessary pressure on your AC unit and it can cause it to leak and eventually stop working. Installing it is very simple. There's no need to take it to somebody to pay to get it installed. You can do it at home by yourself, right in your driveway in a couple of minutes. I actually had my kids do it. I think it is a great thing to get your kids involved in doing it to show them the first line of vehicle maintenance. So I would also recommend that changing this out at least once a year. I like to change mine when I change my oil or change my air filter, kind of make it a habit to check both of them. Change your air filter, check this one, maybe change it at the same time because it is that easy to do. Let's go ahead and take this, and we're going to compare it to the one that came out of the car and see the difference. This is what our old cabin air filter look like. You can see we open up these fleets. It looks like it hasn't been changed in quite a while. And you can see how that clogs down in that edge there. What that does again, it blocks air flow. Any air that does get through there, is potentially pulling some of those particles into the cabin of the vehicle again, causing allergies, can make people sick, stuff like that. So it's a good idea to change these out regularly. Our new filter is going to block 90% of outside pollutants from getting inside the cabin of our vehicle where again, if we look at our older one that has got everything clogged in there it's probably dropped to about 20%. That's why it's very important to change out your cabin air filter regularly to maintain clean air inside your vehicle, so you don't over pressurize your air conditioning system. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let's walk you through how to get it installed. Start our installation we're going to the passenger side to our glove box. We need to remove our glove box. All you're going to do is you're going to open it, and we're going to kind of pull up on the bottom and out, and that's going to unclip it. Now what you're looking for is you're looking for this cap right here with these two tabs on it. We're going to lift up on the tab and pull out like that. And that's going to show where the air filter is. Now, if you notice the way this air filter is where it says airflow in the way, the arrows are pointing. Need to pay attention to that so when you put on your new one its facing the same direction. To get our old one out, if you push, kind of push in the center, you can also get a pick or something like that and grab onto it. We need to take this and slide it out just like that. To get our new one in you just reverse your steps on your air filter your new one has air flow, make sure those are facing down. Now we're just going to slide it right back into place. Close your lid, re-install your glove box, and you're ready to go. It's going to do it for a look at the installation on the PTC Custom cabin air filter on the 2013 GMC Terrain..
