Sometimes, the best adventures are the short ones that remind us why we do this in the first place. This past weekend, Sergio, Fernando, and I set out to explore the Picayune Strand section of the South Florida Adventure Trail. We set up camp at the peaceful and remote Kirkland Hammock Primitive Campsite, surrounded by the wild beauty of the Everglades. On Saturday, our friend Al joined us for the trail ride—bringing great energy to the day before heading home that evening. Though brief, this trip was rich with camaraderie, campfire stories, and a deep reconnection with nature.
