Spanish Verbs: Should you use QUIERO or NECESITO?

¿Quiero o necesito? Don’t make these common mistakes using the verbs “to want” and “to need” in Spanish. When English speakers use the verb “to need”, they have at least two options in Spanish, the verbs “necesitar”, and “querer”. In this video you will learn that “necesitar”, “to need”, is a verb that is used more often in English than in Spanish. This causes that when speaking Spanish, English speakers overuse the verb “to need”, “necesitar”. Their overuse of “to need” in English is understandable since “querer”, “to want”, could be harsher and impolite. Spanish students think this could also be the case in Spanish. But it is not. You have to remember that “querer”, “to want” is not rude in Spanish, if you use it in the right context and form. This video will show you when to use the verb “necesitar”, and when not use it.
