Albert Anastasia was ordered to arrange Schultz's elimination, and he selected Louis Buchalter's Murder Inc. to carry out the hit. On 10/23/35 Schultz and three others were gunned down at the Palace Chophouse in Newark NJ. The Lawless Years was an NBC program that ran for three seasons from 1959-61. It starred James Gregory as real life NYC detective Barney Ruditsky. Mr. Gregory appeared in a number of movies and tv shows and is best known as Inspector Lugar on Barney Miller.
