Málaga, Spain, on the Costa del Sol, Andalucia, has become one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. Along with popular festivals such as La Feria, Carnival, Fashion Week and Semana Santa, and famed Calle Larios, the Port of Málaga holds its own. Since the upgrade and inauguration of Muelle Uno in 2022, the port has attracted Superyachts and Megayachts from all over the world such as 306' MAYAN QUEEN, the 323' AVIVA, 328' MOONRISE, the 331' DYNASTY, the 344' LADY MOURA, the 361' KAOS, 361' RADIANT, 414' OCTOPUS, as well as the 462' YAS – to name a few Megayacht "Golden Odyssey" was in the Port of Málaga, Spain during the months of May and June, 2024. Built by Lürssen Yachts, Germany in 2015, it is one of the largest superyachts in the world. Her steel hull and aluminum superstructure boasts an overall length of 123.23 m (404'2"), with a reported cruising speed of 11-15 knots (12.5 to 17 mph) and a top speed of 21 knots (24 mph). She has a capacity of up to 36 in 15 cabins of which 10 are doubles and 5 are double/twins. She is maintained and serviced by a crew of 70-76. The site Superyacht Fan notes her estimated value at $150 million and having an estimated running cost of about $15 million. The original owner was Saudi Prince Khalid Ben Sultan al Saud. One report indicated that the prince faced financial difficulties soon after she was built and spent little to no time on the vessel. At any rate, Golden Odyssey was seized in Malta in late 2022 due to an outstanding loan estimated to have been over $115M. Her new owner was reputed to be a Chinese billionaire.
