Revelation 1:5 — Has His Blood Washed You?

Revelation 1:5 says, “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.” This is not a sentimental introduction. It is a declaration of Christ’s authority, victory, and exclusivity. He is the faithful witness—He spoke only truth, even when it led to the cross. He is the firstborn from the dead—He rose with power, never to die again, the guarantee of resurrection for all who are in Him. And He is the ruler over the kings of the earth—now, not later. Every government, every leader, every system is under His authority whether they acknowledge Him or not. He loved us, not with empty affection, but by shedding His blood to cleanse us from sin. If your life has not been washed by His blood, you are still in your sin and under His wrath. See Romans 5:9 and Hebrews 9:22. The question is not whether Jesus is Lord. The question is whether you have submitted.
