Part 1 or 4. My first day in Kauai! I started my trip off with an epic hike in Koke'e State Park. I decided to connect the two hikes. There is a connector trail between the two viewpoints. It is overgrown, but not impassable. If you like tio hike, I highly recommend doing both of these trails! If you only have timw for one of them, it's tough to say which view is better. Awa'awapuhi - you are surrounded by gorgeous views on both sides, but also the area also feels contained. You really feel like you are in the valley here. Nu'alolo - the view is on the left. it is massive and magnificant, but there is also a large red-mud ledge that you can't get to the edge of. (Too dangerous.) If you walk a little farther down than I did, perhaps the mud ledge would be a little less obstructive. Video Timestamps - 1:34: Start at Awaawapuhi trailhead at 8:25AM 8:36: Awa'awapuhi overlook at 10am - 3.25 miles 11:27 - Leave Awa'awapuhi overlook. Bushwack through connecting trail. 17:04 - Nu’alolo overlook at 12:20pm - 6.7 miles 22:22 - End at Nu’alolo trailhead - 2:52pm - 9.8 miles (If you have to walk the road at the end you will add about 2 miles to your hike. I hitch hiked, which I know is not advisable, but 2 lovely ladies offered to give me a ride.) For time reference, I was here in May of 2023. :) 2 more Kauai videos coming!
