CN's GP40-2s 2010-2016

233 GP40-2L(W)s were built for CN (9400-9632) and 35 GP40-2(W)s (9633-9667). They also purchased 10 units from GO transit (9668-9677). The GP40-2L(W) were built with a taller and lighter frame than the standard GP40-2(W) to allow for a larger fuel tank. This leads to a larger air space between the air reservoirs and the top of the fuel tank. This video shows both types of locomotive in operation although CN has sold many of these locomotives. This video completes my coverage of all types of CN locomotives that have operated in Atlantic Canada in the last decade. The ES44DC, ES44AC & ET44AC locomotives are covered in "CN's GEVOs on train #120 in Halifax NS area" and the SD70I, SD75I and SD70M-2 can be seen in individual videos.
