"Childcare costs are exorbitant, we've got one of the worst paternity leave policies in Europe, and maternal care is in danger... on top of that, one in four British mothers are pushed out of the workforce," Mischa says. It comes as 2026 could see a "tipping point" where the number of deaths in the UK are greater than the number of births, according to the Resolution Foundation.
