The Impact of Mild Cognitive Impairment on Older Adults

Older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) may struggle with everyday decision making. Researchers from the Keck School of Medicine of USC found that the condition, which can be a precursor to dementia, was linked to worse decision-making abilities. MCI is a form of cognitive ability loss that can precede Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. People with MCI have some trouble with memory and thinking but can largely lead independent lives.
