Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (IATA: HYD, ICAO: VOHS) is the main international airport serving Hyderabad, the capital city of the Indian state of Telangana. Hyderabad is a major cultural and economic centre in South India, famous for its historic Charminar, thriving tech industry (Hyderabad is often called “Cyberabad”), pearls and biryani, and as a hub for IT, finance and pharmaceuticals. The airport lies in Shamshabad, about 24–30 km south of Hyderabad’s city centre, and has grown into one of India’s busiest aviation hubs. Wikipedia +1 Opened in March 2008, RGIA replaced the older Begumpet Airport for commercial traffic and is owned/operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) under a public-private partnership. It handled over 29 million passengers in the year April 2024–March 2025, making it the fourth-busiest airport in India. Technical details: the airport’s elevation is about 2,024 feet (≈617 m) above mean sea level. It has two asphalt runways oriented roughly 09/27 (magnetic headings ~090°/270°): 09R/27L: approx 4,260 m (13,976 ft), suitable for heavy wide-body aircraft including A380 operations, with advanced instrument landing systems. 09L/27R: approx 3,707 m (12,162 ft), acting as a second operational runway. The modern integrated terminal handles both domestic and international flights with capacity around 40 million passengers per year and includes cargo, maintenance, and sustainability features like a large solar power plant. #flights #viral #ytshorts #shorts #aeroplane #viralshorts
