It took me 5 years to finish my PhD in International Relations (UMS). 3 years for my Master, and 3 years for my degree and 2 years for matriculation. My phd thesis is on Malaysia's Peacekeeping Operations 1960-2010. truth is, i never imagined myself reaching this stage 25 years ago. and i owe this to a great number of people from my time at KL, uitm dungun and those here at uitm sabah. my father, mother my in laws, family members, friends, thank u everyone. i am hopeful this might inspire some of u, especially my students to go for greater heights. "Aim for the stars. if somehow u don't get to the stars, at least u fall on the moon". i know some of my friends are still struggling to finish theirs. it hurts even more when time appears to stand still. i know it is painful. but u simply have to brave all the odds, smash the voice that keeps telling you to let it go, and believe that one way or the other u will get there. just, do it. when u get to the end, i wish i would be there standing next to u. we smile and take a photo together. be strong my friends.
