The history of Moonkin form. Moonkin form was introduced in vanilla in patch 1.8 and gave a 3% crit buff and 360% additional armor. Up until that point the only reason to bring a druid to raid was for them to inervate the priest. With the introduction of moonkin form they now provided a 3% crit buff for their group but still did absolutley terrible damage as balance. In the Burning crusade Moonkinform was changed to give 400% more armor, 5% spell crit, and 150% attack power with the chance to get mana back on a melee hits. And at the end of BC allowed them to use remove curse while in moonkin form In wrath They removed the bonus attack power and the chance to get mana back on maylay hits and added a whole bunch of wonderful additions to moonkin form in addition to it giving extra armor and 5% spell crit. Owlkin frenzy was a talent that gave moonkins a 15% chance when being hit to do 10% more damage and become immune to pushback for 10 seconds. They also had an increased aura that gave 3% spell haste and converted 15% of their spirit into spell damage. In cata moonkin form was changed to reduced all damage by 15%, increase arcane and nature damage by 10% and give everyone in the raid 5% spell haste instead of crit like in the past. This is how moonkin form pretty much stayed all the way until late mist when the 15% damage reduction was taken away and replaced with 100% additional armor instead.
