I wanted to install an Xtrig preload compressor on my 690. Thought others might find the info useful, especially if they have a KTM 690 Enduro R, Husqvarna 701 Enduro, or GasGas ES 700. This video shows the Motion Pro shock spring compressor in operation. A couple of clarifications: I say in the video that I bought the spring compressor for $130, but I had a credit on Amazon that was applied to this purchase that brought the price down. The price on most sites is going to be $180-ish. Still cheaper than a visit to the ER or urgent care. Also, if you've never removed the shock from the 690, it goes in and out easily. I have the fuel tank held up with a strap in the video, but when I was actually pulling the shock out and putting it back in, which I did multiple times, the tank needed to go higher. The strap was holding the tank nearly high enough, but I just pushed it a little further with my hand and the shock goes right in or out. If you're finding it hard to get it in or out, then something is restricting it. For example, the Xtrig unit might be getting jammed against one of the frame tubes, or one of the wires or hoses in that area might be getting trapped between the shock and the mount. It should go in and out easily, without resistance - so if it's not, look for something that's obstructing it, don't try to just force it in there.
