He uses the acoustic-electric hybrid to create a wide range of tones that extends well beyond anything previously thought possible from one guitar, all with the flick a switch and the turn of a knob. The new Fender Acoustasonic Series Telecaster features an innovative, hollow mahogany body, inset spruce top, five open-pore satin finishes (Natural, Black, Sunburst, Sonic Gray, and Surf Green), newly-designed tuned soundport, forearm contour, 3-ply black/white/black binding, and an electric-style mahogany neck with contoured heel, ebony fingerboard, and Tele headstock. The advanced electronics include a five-way Voice Selector switch, rosewood Mod and Volume knobs, and the Acoustic Engine’s three separate pickup systems. The key to the Fender American Acoustasonic Series Telecaster’s many voices is the Acoustic Engine, a seamless blend of classic and progressive technologies designed in collaboration with Fishman. The Engine features three separate pickup systems: Fishman Matrix Narrow under-saddle transducer pickup Fishman Acoustasonic Enhancer under-bridge pickup Fender Acoustasonic Noiseless pickup These three pickup systems work together with the String Instrument Resonance System to produce an infinite range of hum-free acoustic and electric tones with minimal feedback. The five-position Voice Selector switch allows the player to toggle between five curated, preset voice pairs, each featuring A and B voices that can be played individually or blended together using the Mod Knob to create unique, hybrid tones unlike any other. Position 1: Electric Voice A: Fender Electric Clean Crystal clear electric rhythm or lead lines­ from your acoustic guitar. Really. Voice B: Fender Electric Fat/Semi-Clean Kick up a little dirt unlike any acoustic you’ve heard before. Position 3: Percussion & Enhanced Harmonics Voice A: Sitka Spruce/Brazilian Rosewood Dreadnought A deep, robust blend of traditional and exotic tone woods. Voice B: Adds Body Pickup To The Above Voice (Up To A Predetermined Maximum Blend) Heat up the top pickup for a percussive effect and increased harmonics. Position 4: Alternative Acoustics Voice A: Engelmann Spruce/Maple Small-Body A parlor-inspired combination of tone wood and body size that shines in intimate settings. Voice B: Sitka Spruce/Mahogany Dreadnought Rich mid-range with big low-end for extra oomph when you’re strumming or playing finger-style. Position 5: Core Acoustics Voice A: Sitka Spruce/Rosewood Dreadnought Cutting treble coupled with deep bass for a traditional sound that soars when strummed. Voice B: Alpine Spruce/Rosewood Auditorium A taut, focused sound perfect for pop-style guitar that sits above the mix as well as intricate finger-style that demands articulation. Unplug and pluck. The Fender Acoustasonic Series Telecaster’s lithium-ion battery is fully USB-chargeable and the Onboard USB Micro Connector and allows you to charge and play at the same time.
