Qantas Business Suite – Brisbane to Hong Kong (QF 97) – Airbus A330-300

This review looks at the newest Qantas Business Class (known as the “Business Suite”) on an A330-300 flight between Brisbane and Hong Kong. My journey begins in Adelaide where I board a domestic B737-800 flight to Brisbane. When I arrive in Brisbane, I take the terminal transfer bus then proceed to the secure section of the international terminal. I then make a quick stop at the newly renovated Qantas Brisbane Lounge where I have a light snack. When I board QF 97, I review in extensive detail the Business Suite product which is a very competitive Business Class product. There’s a single Business Class cabin on the A330-300 with 7 rows of seats arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seat is reviewed prior to take-off as well as in the air, with an emphasis on the different seating positions, storage spaces, legroom, seat space, IFE, lighting and so forth. During the 9 hour flight, there are two in-flight meal services – lunch (served after take-off) and a light snack (served before landing). Both meals are Neil Perry-inspired and served on chinaware/cutlery designed by Marc Newson. I also manage to get a few hours of sleep on the comfortable lie-flat bed, which is prepared with a mattress pad, duvet and over-sized pillow.
