Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about Artistic Billiards. Artistic Billiards or fantasy billiards is a modified form of Carom Billiards, a cue-based sport. Artistic Billiards is mostly played between two players on a billiard table. The objective of Artistic Billiards is to execute 76 predetermined billiard shots which vary in difficulty and complexity on a billiard table without pockets. The players are required to play the shot from a precise, pre-defined position with a tolerance of only a few millimeters Participants get three attempts at each of the 76 artistic billiards shots. Few common artistic billiard shots include force draws, compound rail jerking, jumps, sidespin and force follow. There is a maximum point value assigned to each shot for flawless execution. These point values can range from four points as a maximum for shots of minimum difficulty to eleven points as a maximum for shots of maximum difficulty.
