Did anyone (besides Nicole) really think that Mahmoud would change? He might be in America but he's still determined to control Nicole, under the guise of religion. But Nicole refuses to be told what she can or can't wear. And Mahmoud HATES this! He sulks and threatens divorce. And when Mahmoud refuses to go for dinner with Nicole's friends, the fact that Nicole leaves and goes without him says a lot... She's already getting sick of him and it's only day two! The truth is, Nicole no longer seems prepared to be anchored down by Mahmoud. She wants autonomy of her own body. And she wants her husband to "relax a little" and adjust to life in America. But given that compromise and finding middle ground seems difficult for Mahmoud, surely the writing must be on the wall for these two? Surely?
