DOUBLE SURPRISE! I am very excited to share this video with you that contains two pieces. As you all know, I REALLY love the Afrikaans art song genre. The first piece is an Afrikaans art song by D.J. Roode called "Oktobermaand", which means "October month" in English. It tells about how lovely October is: cloudless, green gardens, beautiful days. Because obviously it is spring in South Africa. Although we're not quite in October yet, we're nearly there. The second song is a waltz written by the Italian composer Luigi Arditi. It is called "Il bacio" and translates to "The Kiss". You probably also all know that I REALLY love singing waltzes, especially if they have as much coloratura passages as this one!! (More exciting news later.)
