Woman on Her Way to Pickup Her Kids is Arrested for Her 2nd DUI

On January 20, 2023, a driver called the Mayfield Heights Police Department to report a white vehicle weaving through lanes. 3 officers were position in the Northbound I-271 and observed a Volkswagen driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was pulled over and the female denied consuming any alcohol. She indicated that she was in a rush to pickup her 2 kids. Because she had a previous DUI in 2019, the officer decided that he would perform field sobriety tests, which the woman refused. She was immediately placed under arrest and was transported to the police station where she also refused an evidentiary breath test. After posting bail of $525, she was released to a sober adult after about 90 minutes at the jail. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
