Part 1 of 2 tutorial of If This Then That (IFTTT) and interaction between a Particle Photon (an Arduino-based wifi enabled device) and a cell phone for getting automatic notifications. I show how to get IFTTT setup and running, how to authorize the Particle channel, and how to write a recipe on IFTTT. Then we test it out with Photon and show it working. Part 1 is a basic introduction, no software coding is required. In Part 2 I create a more sophisticated example but still quite simple. We will send data from a light sensor (photo resistor) to the Particle cloud and react to that data with IFTTT.
