This bag suits what we needed as I wanted to keep it very light and only pack maybe 1515 to 20 pounds on his back. The bag is lightweight. It has a wonderful front zold front zipper that doesn't allow you the option to enter the bag from the bottom and either keep it as a separate compartment or completely enter the entire bag if that helps the way you pack things and access them without pulling everything out. Even though this bag does not have an internal or external frame colonel frame, the design seems to allow for air flow and and great padding as well as support on the waste harness to possibly prop up the bag a little bit into a more ergonomical spot on your back. The bag seems water resistant, has deep side pockets for water bottles or hiking pools we're hiking Poles as well as 2 straps. This bag also has a rain cover included inside of inside of an external pocket on the bottom of the bag. The bag has great organization with at least 3 outside zipped compartments. This bag also has a sleeve for the water platter and and a exit area that is that is well constructed. It has the emergency whistle and and loop strapping strapping on the harness chest straps that you can attach carabiners too rabieners too for additional items. Has a great grab handle for both picking up or hanging up after using it. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and look forward to using it with my son.
