While I've got nothing against the Christmas classics, if (like me) you live some where you're more likely to see swimming than snowmen this Yule time, it might be time to broaden your Christmas cocktail offerings. With the variety on offer here, surely there'll be something to suit everyone. CHAPTERS: 0:00 - Introduction 0:37 - Merry Christmas & Thank You! 0:53 - The Brandy Alexander 3:00 - The Jack Rose 4:51 - The Treacle 7:50 - Grapefruit Mimosa (Bonus Make) BRANDY ALEXANDER A very popular spinoff of the gin based Alexander cocktail, it’s hard to look past a creamy and decadent Brandy Alexander for a festive treat. I’ve spiked my version with a little coffee liqueur too, to make sure you don’t nod off before your Granny goes home. 30ml (1oz) brandy 15ml (1/2 oz) crème de cacao 15ml (1/2oz) coffee liqueur 30ml (1oz) cream Grated nutmeg to garnish THE JACK ROSE Apple and pomegranate are so evocative of autumn and wintertime to me, so even though this is classic sour proportions, it feels really warming. 60ml (2oz) Applejack 25ml (3/4oz) grenadine 25ml (3/4oz) lime juice THE TREACLE Another modern classic from legendary bartender Dick Bradsell – it's essentially a rum old fashioned with an apple juice float, so what’s not to like?! This is a slightly tweaked recipe, more similar to one we had on the menu at my first bartending job. 60ml (2oz) dark rum 10ml (1/3oz) demerara sugar syrup 15ml (1/2oz) cloudy apple juice float 2 dash black walnut bitters Orange twist to garnish GRAPEFRUIT MIMOSA Grapefruit juice Dry sparkling wine If you want to be a little fancy you can absolutely garnish with a grapefruit twist or adding fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary works really nicely. Fill half a champagne flute with grapefruit juice, and top up with dry sparkling wine. Simples! *** If you like this video please let us know with a thumbs up or share it with your friends.
