How to paint a flower in acrylics | Tips for blending acrylic paint

In this tutorial I'll show how to paint a Daisy in acrylics. Painting realistic flowers relies on capturing the light and darks on each of the petals. There are often seamless transitions from highlights to shadows with how each petal curves so I use a couple of blending techniques to achieve this. I created this painting to show how to blend acrylics using a range of different techniques. Whether it's aided through using a fine mist spray bottle or a blending brush, different blending techniques will create different effects. Using a range of blending techniques ensures that not all brush strokes look the same which helps to bring more depth and realism to the finished painting.
