At Workforce Solutions Capital Area, transparency and trust are cornerstones of how we serve our community — and that includes how we communicate with our own team. To share key updates on our direction and momentum, our CEO Tamara Atkinson recently recorded a short video intended for both our internal team and our wider community of partners, collaborators, and supporters. It highlights three central themes guiding our work right now: Strategy: Our Hire Local Plan now includes child care as a core goal — fully recognizing its role in helping families and local economies thrive. Funding: Despite federal uncertainty, our WIOA allocation has increased, and thanks to strong city and county partnerships — including efforts like the Austin Infrastructure Academy and ongoing Proposition A discussions — we’re in a strong position to continue delivering high-impact services. Change in Action: We're evolving how we deliver services — from doubling down on navigation-based support to exploring how technology can make our work even more accessible and impactful.
