Rachel Maddow ‘cries racism’ at MSNBC for axing Joy Reid

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has blasted her own network after the axing of ReidOut host Joy Reid. Ms Reid’s show cancelation comes as part of a major overhaul by the network’s new president Rebecca Kutler. Ms Maddow took aim at the axing during an episode of ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ where the host said it would be a "bad mistake" to let Ms Reid go. “There is no colleague for whom I have had more affection and more respect than Joy Reid, I love everything about her, I have learnt so much from her, I have so much more to learn from her,” Ms Maddow said. “I do not want to lose her as a colleague at MSNBC and personally I think it is a bad mistake to let her walk out the door.” The MSNBC host also took aim at the network saying it is “unnerving” MSNBC is losing both its “nonwhite hosts in prime time”. “I will tell you it is also unnerving to see that on a network where we’ve got two … non-white hosts in prime time, both of our nonwhite hosts in prime time are losing their shows, as is Katie fang on the weekend and that feels worse than bad,” she said. ‘Alex Wagner Tonight’ host Alex Wagner, has seen her show cancelled, but will remain with the network as a senior political analyst. MSNBC has also canceled ‘The Katie Phang Show’ as well as the ‘Jose Diaz-Balart Reports’.
