3 Reasons I Don't Share My Crochet Patterns (These are in fact my own opinions. You do not have to agree, however, if you aren't here for an actual dialog and just want to force your views, they will be deleted. Stay kind, stay civil, and crochet on) #1. I'm a freestyler so they're all in my head! I'm pretty sure I'm dyslexic and do not posses the grace of how to translate my thoughts and actions into words people would understand. Can I read a pattern? Yes I can read crochet patterns however, when I'm crocheting my stuffies, I don't use the proper wording that people normally see in my chicken scratch notes. Most of the time I just look at something and make it. #2 I don't want to be involved in copywrite drama. I see so many posts of people getting crochet patterns stolen and people reselling them for cheaper. None of that sounds fun to my positive lifestyle so it's a no from me dawg. Also, I don't ever want to be accused of someone saying I copied them, if I didn't. #3 this is my art form. It's special to me. Ive spent a lot of trial and error through the years to make my dolls and animals. I don't believe artists need to share everything. I have absolutely have no problem helping someone who has questions about crocheting but for something THEY want to make themselves. And besides, making stuffies is just how you combine 3 very basic stitches, single crochet, increases, and decreases and what order you put them in. I highly suggest playing around with it.
