(16 Sep 2016) Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal met his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday. Dahal, who is on a four-day visit to neighbouring India, was given a ceremonial reception at the Presidential Palace and is due to hold talks with Modi later in the day. The two leaders are expected to discuss ways to enhance bilateral ties. Both countries are also expected to sign several key agreements. This marks Dahal's first foreign trip who recently took over as the leader of the politically fractious country's ninth coalition government in 10 years. Nepal is still beset by ethnic conflict and protests against its new constitution, and coping from widespread damage caused by earthquakes that killed thousands last year.
