How do you feel about euthanasia for mental illness? I don't know I feel. There is pain and then there is nothing but pain. While mental illnesses are not typically terminal many do end prematurely from symptoms. In the Netherlands it's legal to choose euthanasia. Will it be a haphazard diagnosis in the future are more doctors giving up on their patients? Will it truely never get better. I will always hang on to hope until I can't. Would I have chosen this option? Will I some day be given this opportunity? I think I would have chosen to opt out, I think so many of us would but maybe it's not the best decision maybe we can hold on just one more day. What if AI finds a cure for us? What if you miss out on something really really great. What if you are destined to a life of pain. What if you discover something about life you never imagined? Are you glad or happy you don't live in the Netherlands? I am happy I didn't have the choice to really chose to end it because while I've had an immense amount of pain in my life I have found a new love for life I didn't think possible.
