Today on our enclosed trailer, we're going to be installing the Fastway Flip-Up Automatic Fold-Up Jack Foot for 2" jacks with a 6" extension and a 1,400 pound tongue weight capacity, part number FA88-00-6500. With the Fastway Automatic Fold-Up Jack Foot, this eliminates the need for blocks or hard to position jack foot extensions, by having a unique flip-up style jack foot. There's no pins or clips to secure, the 6" extension minimizes the amount of cracking required to position the jack. When retracting the jack, the foot automatically folds up into the closed position. The foot jack is made of a durable steel construction and comes with all necessary hardware to install. This jack will also fit a square tube, if that's the style jack you have. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it on your trailer. We'll be installing the Fastway Automatic Fold-Up Jack Foot on a small enclosed trailer. Now we've gone ahead and measured, the outer diameter of our jack is 2-1/4 and the inner diameter tube is 2", so this is the correct jack for application. Now you'll notice that we have the jack supported by some jack stands. You could hook it too your vehicle or set it on a set of jack stands, as you will need to retract the jack and need some way to support the front of the trailer. Next we'll go ahead and crank the jack all the way into the closed position, as we'll need to take a quick measurement. With the jack fully retracted, we need to make sure that there's no more than 2-1/4" sticking out from the inner tube from the outer tube. In our case, we're well under that distance. Now the way we're going to install it, is we'll put the block of wood underneath the jack. We'll then slide the fold-up jack foot in horizontally, pushing it up against the inner tube. Now you'll notice that there's a small hole here. This is actually a pilot hole that we'll be drilling a 3/16 drill bit through. Once you have the foot positioned properly, we'll go ahead and put a little tension on the jack, just to hold the foot in place. With that done, we'll take our 3/16 drill bit and drill our hole into the inner tube on both sides, going through the pilot hole in the foot jack. Once we have our pilot hole on both sides, we'll go ahead and crank the jack back up and remove the fold-up jack foot for now, as well as the block of wood. We'll then need to take a 1/2" drill bit and open up the 3/16 hole to a half-inch hole on both sides. Once this is done, we want to make sure that we at least run the 1/2" drill bit all the way through, so that we contact both holes. If there's any burrs left after drilling, you'll need to take a small file and clean up the burrs. Next we're ready to install the fold-up jack foot onto our jack. We'll take the bolt that's supplied with the kit, as well as the 1/2" washer. We'll slide the 1/2" washer under the bolt, and then the 3/8 washer and threaded nut will go on the other side. Since we're installing this on a round jack, we will need to use the round spacer washer and slide it onto the inner tube of the jack first. We'll then take the jack foot and line up the hole that we just drilled with the hole in the jack foot. We'll then take the bolt with the 1/2" washer already installed and push it through the holes, to come out the other side. We'll then take our 3/8 washer and slide it over the bolt, and then put the locknut in place. We can then tighten down the bolt. Once the bolt's tightened down, we want to make sure that the flip jack foot swings freely up and down. Once you have the bolt tightened down and you've made sure that the foot swings freely, that's all there is to the installation of the Fastway Flip-Up Automatic Fold-Up Jack Foot for 2" jacks with a 6" extension, part number FA88-00-6500. .
