Distributed Fiber-Optics sensing offers a lot of possibilities for optimization in well operations giving information on the whole depth, such as temperature, vibrations (including slow-strain) and static strain: -Distributed Temperature Sensing is a must-have from decades for well production optimization and flow insurance in oil and gas wells and starts to address the geothermal wells market. -Distributed Acoustic Sensing is more and more used for leak detection and frac monitoring. -Distributed Strain Sensing brings new possibilities to monitor and guaranty the integrity of a well. Deployed temporarily with coil tubing, slicklines or wirelines, or deployed permanently when cemented behind the casing, those technologies are used all along the well’s life from the drilling process to the abandonment, to optimize the production during its life-time with a maximal security. Presented by Vincent Lanticq, Technical Manager and Co-founder of FEBUS Optics. After having completed his Ph.D on Fiber Optic Sensing at Telecom Paris in 2009, Lanticq started his career in a SME in France designing and installing full monitoring solutions. Together with Etienne Almoric, he founded FEBUS Optics in 2015 and designed a new generation of distributed fiber optic sensing systems.
