Ahead of the release of Femme, we sat down with co-stars George Mackay (1917, True History of the Kelly Gang, Munich: Edge of War) and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett (Culprits, Misfits, Utopia) to discuss how they prepared for their roles in this queer, neo-noir revenge thriller. Femme was first developed as a short film starring Paapa Essiedu and Harris Dickinson, and went on to win the BIFA for Best British Short Film in 2021. The upcoming feature has received a whopping 11 nominations in the #BIFA2023 awards. Femme is out in cinemas Friday 1 December. Head to bifa.film/awards/2023/ to find full information on the winners and tune in to BIFA’s Instagram on Sunday 3 December for ceremony and red carpet highlights, and to find out winners of the other 2023 categories. 0:00 What attracted you to the story? 1:41 Empathising with your character 3:06 Inspiration for your role 5:04 Memorable moments from set
