Stanley Tudor Wurlitzer Organ Manchester BBC Radio 2 Broadcast from 23/05/1968

A BBC Radio 2 broadcast by Stanley Tudor at the Wurlitzer Organ of the Gaumont Cinema Manchester. This was broadcast on the 23rd of May 1968. The wonderful Gaumont Manchester 4/14 rank Wurlitzer Organ. And here Stanley Tudor gets the real "Tudor Tone" on this broadcast. He played the Wurlitzer from its opening in 1935 on into the 1950s The Organ was saved and removed in around 1974 by the Lancastrian Theatre Organ Trust "LTOT". After many years in storage and sadly having to have a replica console built after the original was destroyed in a fire. At the same time, in storage, the organ was then installed by the LTOT in the Granada Studio Complex Manchester where it could be seen and heard for several years. When that closed and the organ had to be removed yet again the organ in time was sold to Paul Kirner who installed the Organ at Folly Farm Pembrokeshire where it has resided since spring 2009 in excellent condition. Please note 52 years ago when this was recorded off the radio on a 1960s Grundig Mono tape recorder so sadly is not up to our modern digital recording and sound quality.
