XYZ House is an architectural dialogue between generations. Built across two adjacent lots—one an unfinished structure from a different architect and the other a vacant site—the project unifies three distinct conditions: an existing structural framework, a contemporary extension, and a neighboring classic-style family home. Designed for a three-generation household (Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z), the residence bridges stylistic contrasts through a shared frontage, layered massing, and a material palette of marble, travertine, and lush greenery. At its core, the home reflects the social nature of its Gen X patriarch; prioritizing gatherings, prayer spaces, and generous communal areas, while integrating nature through reflecting pools, a central courtyard anchored by a Fossil Frangipani tree, and a hidden aviary. Structured in three layers—a grounded black base, a recessed social level with expansive decks and planters, and a bold travertine volume above—XYZ House balances solidity and levitation, intimacy and openness. More than a residence, it is a living narrative of continuity, connection, and evolving identity.
