This is me… again, and I'm here to tell you all about the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. But first, let me just say that I had an absolutely delightful day filming here. It was a day of peace, tranquility, and—oh yeah—almost getting hit in the face by a low-hanging tree branch. But hey, that's all part of the adventure, right? Now, on to the history of this gorgeous garden. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh was founded in 1670 as a physic garden to grow medicinal plants. Back then, it was located near the Palace of Holyroodhouse, but it moved to its current location in 1820. Today, the garden spans over 70 acres and is home to over 13,000 plant species from all over the world. But the Royal Botanic Garden isn't just a pretty place to take a stroll. It's also a leading center for plant science and research. In fact, the garden's herbarium contains over 3 million preserved plant specimens, making it one of the largest in the world. And if you're interested in conservation, you'll be happy to know that the garden has an active program to protect endangered plant species. One of the highlights of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is the Victorian Palm House But currently under renovation. Built-in 1858, this stunning glasshouse is home to a collection of tropical plants, including palm trees that are over 100 years old. And if you're a fan of rhododendrons, you won't want to miss the Rhododendron Walk, which features over 500 different species. So there you have it, folks: Whether you're a plant enthusiast, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, this garden is definitely worth a visit.
