In this video I’ll share with you some fun light painting techniques using fiber optics. If you follow my work (I hope you do!) you should know that I LOVE creative lighting. Whether it’s experimenting with speciality modifiers, gels, shutter drag or in this situation painting with light. So what is “light painting” you ask? Fundamentally it’s when you set a long exposure and you paint your subject with a focused lightsource. This can be using a flashlight or pretty much any sort of light. You really only need 3 things for this: 1. A tripod to use for the long exposure time 2. A light source (flashlight, fiber optics, iPhone, whatever) 3. Make sure you kill off all of the ambient light in the room. As you can see, I basically just painted the subject with the fiber optics while my assistant painted the background with another gelled light source to create some separation. This is a super fun technique that can result in really creative images. The end result was this ethereal, otherworldly futuristic type image. It’s inexpensive to experiment with lighting painting and has endless possibilities so I definitely encourage you to give it a try! 👇 Drop a comment below and let me know what you think of the end results! ⚙️ Camera settings: ✅ 13 sec exposure ✅ F8 ✅ ISO 250 📸 Gear Used: ✅ Canon EOS R5: https://prf.hn/l/7oZobqW/ ✅ Canon RF 24-105: https://prf.hn/l/deZLnJq/ ✅ Fiber optic light painting brushes: https://lightpaintingbrushes.com/coll... ✅ Manfrotto Tripod: https://prf.hn/l/ZZG3xq5/ ✅ Tether Tools cable: https://prf.hn/l/vwzRaoJ/ ✅ Savage Seamless Thunder Gray Background: https://prf.hn/l/1eEBojD/ 🔥 To learn more about lighting, I definitely recommend checking out my class - Master Studio Lighting.
