Magic Skis is, in the loosest sense of the word, a tourism video for the ski resorts in and around Breckenridge Colorado. Produced by Roger C Brown, creator of over 20 ski films and an innovator in the genre, Magic Skis is an incredibly charming action comedy featuring claymation possessed skis, Flatsville Illinois, bodacious slow motion ski tricks, and all the neon parkas and wraparound Oakley's 1991 had to offer. l am uploading Magic Skis for archival purposes. The VHS copy l had digitally transferred had a lot of context clues that indicated it was produced with the intent of being distributed solely to travel agencies. On top of that, the Flatsville Illinois references makes me think it may have only been sent to Midwestern travel agencies. How many travel agencies were there in the Midwest in 1991? How many of those tapes survived the 35 years between them and now? I can't imagine it's many, and with how hard it is to find information on, l worry that this 30 minutes of joy is in danger of being buried by the sands of time. This film deserves better. This film deserves fans, deserves celebration. l intend to upload this to Internet Archive as well, l will edit the link in as soon as l do
